Asia Water Leadership Award 2016 presented to Bangladesh Wing coordinator Delta Alliance Bangladesh Wing coordinator Prof Monowar Hossain received the Asia Water Leadership Award 2016. He got the award for ‘his strategic and iconic contribution to the water community and society at large’.

Kampf ums Land - Die Deltas der Welt wappnen sich Die großen Flussdeltas gehören zu den am dichtesten besiedelten Lebensräumen der Welt - und zu den gefährdetsten. Immer mehr Flüsse werden gestaut und verlieren so ihre Sedimentfracht, lange bevor daraus im Delta neuer Boden entstehen könnte. Gleichzeitig nagt der Meeresspiegelanstieg an den flachen Mündungsgebieten. Den Deltas droht das Ertrinken.

Round table session held on Delta Approach In this round table sessions representatives of Dutch government, private sector and knowledge institutes discussed 'The Delta Approach'. The central question was: "To which extend can generic steps and tools be identified to increase the resilience of deltas?" Outcomes can be found in this report. Outcomes of this session will be shared and discussed during the Adaptation Futures conference in Rotterdam (May 10-13, 2016).

Knowledge shared around Urbanising Deltas of the World From 25-27 January 2016, the UDW research programme organised an international conference on research uptake with over 50 participants in Ho Chi Min City. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen the linkages of the UDW researchers and research with a wider community of practice in the professional field of urbanizing deltas.
