New book: Too Big. Rebuild by Design: A Transformative approach to Climate Change A guide for to politicians, designers, change managers, community leaders, researchers, activists and others. Rebuild by Design (RBD) was developed for the ‘Presidential Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force’ after hurricane Sandy hit. One of the authors is Henk Ovink, IGB member of the Delta Alliance.

Annual meeting on Urbanising Deltas of the World (21 January 2018) On 21 January 2018, over 50 researchers and government representatives from Bangladesh and the Netherlands attended the annual meeting of the Urbanising Deltas of the World research and innovation programme in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The aim of the meeting was to enhance exchange and to strengthen community building, as well as to reflect on the Pathways to Impact of the projects in order stimulate the relevance and potential use of UDW research in Delta planning in Bangladesh. The meeting was excellently hosted by prof. Isa Baud, chair of the UDW steering committee.

Report: The coastal system of the Volta delta, Ghana: Strategies and opportunities for development This report is written for the Delft Deltas Infrastructure and Mobility Initiative (DIMI) Volta delta special case. In extension on the workshop in the Volta delta, early October 2017, a literature review is produced to bundle the existing knowledge of the coastal system of the Volta delta and to process this knowledge in practical handles for design.

Dutch-Ghanaian student team jointly worked on complex challenges of the Ghana Volta Delta A group of students and teachers from Delft University of Technology, faculties of Architecture and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering and Geosciences and Technology, Policy and Management worked with Ghanaian students of KNUST, Central University and University of Ghana to develop integrated solutions for the complex challenges of the Volta Delta in Ghana.
