Call for abstracts Future Deltas session IAHR2015 During the 36th IAHR World Congress, which will be held in Delft - The Hague, the Netherlands, 28 June - 3 July, 2015 a special session entitled Deltas – from multiple pressures to integrated solutions will be organised. This session is organized within the framework of the recently established research focus area Future Deltas of Utrecht University. The deadline for submission of an expression of interest is December 22nd 2014.

Report on Regional Training Workshop: Challenges and Approaches in Delta Planning and Management From 19-23 October 2014 a delta training and planning workshop was organised. The workshop was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Objective of the workshop was the direct South – South exchange on objectives and challenges in delta planning taking into account similarities and differences among deltas in South East Asia. The 34 participants of the workshops had governmental, non-governmental and private sector backgrounds. In total 30% of the participants were alumni of Wageningen UR or UNESCO-IHE.

Final Report: Jakarta Climate Adaptation Tools (JCAT) This final report (Delta Alliance report number 8) provides an overview of the different activities, methods, and tools carried out in the JCAT project. This project has contributed to knowledge and capacity building in three main ways: through education, workshops and joint research with stakeholders, and scientific research (KfC HSINT02a project).

Jakarta Climate Adaptation Tools final workshop On 21st August 2014, the JCAT consortium held its final workshop in Jakarta. The title and main theme of the workshop was Jakarta Climate Adaptation Tools: The Pathway to City Resiliency. The workshop was jointly organised by JCAT, the Jakarta Research Council (Dewan Riset Daerah DKI Jakarta; DRD) and the Indonesia International Institute for Urban Resilience and Infrastructure (i3URI). Several other partners and key institutions also supported the workshop, including the Delta Alliance Indonesia Wing.

Deltas in Times of Climate Change II succesfully held with around 1200 attendees Deltas in Times of Climate Change II was all about sharing knowledge, experiences and building a worldwide network of researchers, governments and businesses. More than 1.200 participants from over 50 countries gathered for three days to participate in Round Table discussions, sessions on the science behind climate change and practical workshops. Delta Alliance contributed to this Delta Conference.

Kenia and Taiwan join Delta Alliance In 2009 the Delta Alliance was set up: an international knowledge-driven network for enhancing safety and sustainability in the delta regions of the world. Now that Kenya and Taiwan have joined the network, fourteen deltas over the whole world are members. Together they are acquiring the know-how needed to further develop their deltas and thus deal with the threats that are specific to delta regions.

International Advisory Committee, September 2014 The Delta Alliance held a dedicated session with the International Advisory Committee Board of the Delta Alliance the day before the Deltas in times of climate change conference began.
