Official start Jakarta Climate Adaptation Tools (JCAT)

The research phase of the project, Jakarta Climate Adaptation Tools (JCAT), has now officially started. An announcement can be found on the Delta Alliance website.

The project will be carried out under the flag of the international Delta Alliance and Delta Alliance Indonesia Wing, within the programmatic framework of Knowledge for Climate.The research will be carried out by two PhD candidates: Mr. Yus Budiyono will work on a project related to flood risk mapping and assessment under future hazard, exposure, and vulnerability scenarios at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, and VU University Amsterdam; and Miss Pini Wijayanti will work on a project related to the economic assessment of climate adaptation options at Bogor Agricultural University and Wageningen University. The project aims to link with existing problems in policy and practice in flood management in Jakarta.

A kick-off workshop will be organised during the upcoming World Delta Summit in Jakarta in November 2011.
