Invitation
Delta Alliance and the Water Integrity Network are jointly organizing an informal lunch seminar on ‘Integrity issues in relation to water and food’.

The lunch seminar will be followed by a more restricted dialogue meeting with interested persons and institutional partners with a view to discussing the concept and preparations for the Water Integrity Forum which will take place in June 2013.

Background
The Water Integrity Network (WIN) in partnership with UNESCO-IHE and the Water Governance Centre are developing a concept and programme for a Water Integrity Forum that is expected to take place during the first or second week of June 2013. UNESCO-IHE has offered the use of its conference facilities for the purpose. Several other organizations such as the GWP, SIWI, IRC-International Water and Sanitation Centre, and OECD have indicated their interest to support this initiative.

As part of engagement of WIN in a number of countries and support for this from DGIS/DME, BMZ, SDC and Sida, WIN has initially focused more strongly on integrity and corruption in drinking water provision. WIN has recently started to work more in the important area of integrity in water management and food, which is also related to the nexus of water, food and energy, or water and the green economy. Deltas and river basins where urban and economic growth are strongest are spaces where the drivers of corruption are strong, the priority to contain the phenomenon should be highest, and where water integrity can make the greatest difference.

It is in this context that the Delta Alliance and the Water Integrity Network are jointly organizing the informal open lunch seminar and the more restricted dialogue meeting with interested persons and institutional partners with a view to discussing the concept and preparations for the Water Integrity Forum.
