On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts is open We are now inviting abstracts for submissions on the conference topics outlined and other topics which fall within the general objectives of the symposium. Abstracts (300-400 words) in English should be submitted on-line using the TISOLS2020 website not later than March 31, 2019. The abstract should contain author’s name, affiliation, and selected theme. Please consult the abstract guidelines and abstract format for further details.

Please specify whether an oral or poster presentation is preferred (or no preference). Authors of accepted contributions will be notified by May 2019. For accepted abstracts, submission of a full paper is required. There is a limit of 6 pages for each paper, regardless of the selected presentation form (poster or oral), including figures, tables, and references. The text must be in English.

Themes and topics
Contributions to TISOLS will be centered on five main themes:
•Measuring and Monitoring of Subsidence,
•Understanding Subsidence Mechanism,
•Modelling of subsidence (predictive and inverse),
•Impacts of Subsidence (Societal Cost Benefit Analyses, damage estimates, damage to cultural heritage),
•Measures against Subsidence (mitigation/adaptation, governance, financial, technical).

We will specifically encourage contributions on our five cross-cutting foci, which are societal relevant topics. These cross-cutting foci are:

a. Fissures and Sinkholes,
b. GHG emissions from subsiding peatlands,
c. Strategies and Pathways for Subsidence,
d. the Energy Transition and Subsidence,
e. Coastal Lowlands and Delta’s/Sea Level Rise.

Deadlines
