Symposium 21-09: California and the Netherlands: A New Alliance on Climate Change Adaptation‎
On Monday September 21 2009, the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) and a consortium of leading Dutch researchers and consultants – key members of the Delta Alliance – hosted a symposium on climate change adaptation (read brochure: A New Alliance for Climate Change Adaptation).
At this event, the results of a joint study and adaptation measures for shoreline development around San Francisco Bay were presented, and new ideas for future cooperation in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and San Francisco Bay of California and the Delta in the Netherlands were explored.
The last hour of the event included a discussion by Kees Slingerland, Chairman of the Delta Alliance, on "Proposals for Future Cooperation" and a panel discussion on the agenda for future collaboration, including high level representatives from California and the Netherlands. The Delta Alliance had been announced at this one-day symposium.
