With great pleasure Delta Coalition would like to announce that the chairmanship of the Delta Coalition has been handed over to the People's Republic of Bangladesh by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. On 21 September, Special Water Envoy of the Netherlands, Mr. Henk Ovink and Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, M.P. performed the ceremonial transfer in New York, during the High-level Panel on Water at the UN General Assembly.

For the next one year, Bangladesh will keep hold of the chairmanship and secretariat of the Delta Coalition. The Netherlands, as outgoing chair, will assist Bangladesh to jointly ensure the success of the Delta Coalition. Bangladesh intend to host a working session during COP 22, from 7-18 November 2016 in Marrakesh, Morocco and a Ministerial conference in the second quarter of 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
